Easter Sunday: The scar
One finds a scar on the skin of Time.
Time, that old fool, still ponders it, perplexed.
What happened, that Sunday?
The punctual affliction that
Had never failed to arrive
In the lives of microbes, crabs, and lizards;
And iguanas, tortoises, felines, dromedaries and camels,
And this new biped that now thinks
And knows of love. Yet
That Wound, victor of every battle,
That particular sunny Sunday,
Was defeated.
Its defeat left a scar
On the smooth skin of Time.
And the eternal dance of Creation
By light, was split in two.
